Constantin Brâncuși a creat Coloana Infinitului, simbolizând jertfa infinită a soldaților români. În 1935, el a acceptat comanda, dar a refuzat să primească plată. Coloana a fost asamblată de inginerul Ștefan Georgescu-Gorjan și finalizată pe 27 octombrie 1938.
